7/29/03:
Here are some pictures of the Dash Pad replacement in Morrie's 67.

We got by for many months with this piece of black felt covering the dash top on the car. When the windshield came out, this seemed like the best time to upgrade to a better solution.

Here you can see what the dash looks like with the felt off. The vynal covering is gone down to the horsehair. What a mess.

The dash on a 67 is held in with two screws and a number of clips. On this year, the windshield does NOT need to be removed. There are two small nuts on studs that are accessed from under the hood and the rest is just snap clips that pull off fron the front. Very easy compared to other years where the glass needs to come out to access hidden hardware.

Here you see my son Jeff removing the old speaker from the dash.

This allowed us to install an insulated blocking plate and also gives easier access to the removal of the windshield wiper assembly.

Here we removed all the gages and switches from the dash. All the wiring needed to be labeled and tucked away so it could be reconnected later.

EVERYTHING needed to be masked off for overspray protection

Here we see the finished product in satin black, prior to installation of the dash pad..

Below is the final product, a vast improvement from before. New Dash pad, resprayed dash, and all gages cleaned with new seals.
